The Treaty had five main terms which said that: Germany was the one to be blamed by the war (war guilt clause), it had to pay reparations to its Allies, its overseas empire needed to be taken away, Germany's armed forces were quite limited, and Germany wasn't invited to join the League of Nations, which was later created.
