Answer Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's second wife, was arrested, tried and convicted of treason, witchcraft and incest in May 1536. She was executed by beheading on Tower Green, in the Tower of London on 19th May 1536. She was almost certainly innocent - the charges were brought by her enemies at Court and those who wished to ingratiate themselves with the King by enabling him to marry again.
On 2 May 1536 Anne Boleyn was arrested and sent to the Tower of London, where she was tried before a jury of peers and found guilty of high treason on 15 May 1536. She was beheaded on Tower Green by a French Swordsman four days later on 19 May 1536.
Anne's body and head were put into an arrow chest and buried in an unmarked grave in the Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula which adjoined the Tower Green. Her body was identified in renovations of the chapel under the reign of Queen Victoria, so Anne's final resting place is now marked in the marble floor.
