Not unless you change the aspect ratio. For instance: If you have a 215/70-15 tire and you replace it with a 255/70-15 this would be a horrible swap as the 255/70-15 would be 7.58% larger in overall diameter. It is never advisable to go over 3% difference in size. Besides your speedometer would read 55.4 at a true 60 mph. If you want to install a 255 tire you will need to install a 255/60-15 to replace a 215/70-15 which is an excellent swap.
235/65-15 or 275/75-15 are very good substitutes.
No, this is a bad swap. If you want to go with a 65 series tire then install a 275/65-15 which is almost identical in overall diameter.
Probably not because of the rim width. The 255 is a wider tire.
I doubt it and certainly not on the same rim. It's possible, but I would ask a tire shop pro to check it out.
Yes. Your speedometer will be slightly off, but only by .95 MPH at 55 MPH and 1.12 MPH at 65 MPH.
The 255 part of the number is how wide the tire is. Bigger number more tread on the pavement. The 70 or middle number is how Tall the sidewall of the tire is. The higher the number the taller the tire. The 15 or last number listed is the rim size, again the larger number means a larger rim.
can i replace a p255/60 r15 with a p215/70 r15
I have checked Walmart .com for tire sizes 255/70/R15 and the currently do not carry this size in stock. Whether or not walmart.com carries tires depends on your zip code. In Texas, Walmart.com does not carry 255/70/15.
NO, it will not.
