Same thing happened to me. Replaced the battery & the light went out for a couple weeks; after which it was back on again. This time I took it to the shop & they said the alternator was about to go. I didn't want to "fix" something that was "about to go" so I drove it for about 10 more days before the alternator stopped putting out enough juice to keep the car running or battery charged. Took the car back in & paid to have the alternator replaced. Guess they were right b/c it has worked just fine since. Good luck. It sounds like your alternator is about to go.
