Although heart breaking to you, at least she is honest. She is basically telling you she is confused and doesn't know what she wants. It seems to be the fact she needs to be on her own to know what her strengths and weakness' are and she needs to be more independent and decide what she wants in life. Sit and communicate and try to understand how she feels. Even though it hurts if you love her let her go if she so chooses. Don't promise to be there, but tell her if she needs anything to call you or at least keep in touch. Remind her that you have a life too and you will continue on with it.
