You probably destroyed the fuel pump, which happens a lot when you run a fuel-injected car out of gas.

∙ 15y agoIt won't start because it is out of gas, go get a gas can, put gas in the can, go back to your truck and put the gas in your truck. It should start then.

I had this same problem when i bought my cavalier. I had the ignition lock\key part changed and I changed the ignition switch myself and it worked fine. Now I have yet another problem.
