Put the car on a level surface and make sure the engine is cool. There should be a bolt on the oil pan under the car. When you loosten the bolt, oil empties out of the pan. Get a bucket and put it under the bolt, unscrew the bolt, and measure the oil with the old bottle or a measuring cup that you can get rid of. 4 cups = a quart. After you measure out a quart, screw in the bolt, and check the oil on a level surface. If there is still too much, take more out. If there is not enough, pour some back in. Keep the oil you measured out for when you need to put more in.
