I don't know which model and year car you have...so I'll have to take a guess at this. When the warning light came on, were the brake pads actually worn out far enough to expose the sensors? Check the old pads and see if the sensors were exposed through the brake pad First, I would re-check the brake/sensor installation. Sometimes the little end that you insert into the brake pad bends, and you miss the hole...almost immediately the sensor wears out and sets the light off. The circuit is complete when that little sensor is worn and grounds itself. So, it needs to be worn and come in contact with a metal ground. If you have an older model of car, it could be a short, caused by wear mostly. Check the wire coming from the brake caliper to the hard brake line, then into the engine compartment...that would ground the circuit too. And also check the back of the instrument cluster for breakage on the circuit board. There's also a relay that might have gone bad, which could cause a malfunction. These are simple fixes...if the above doesn't help you...I suggest you take it to a mechanic and have it checked out. Also double check that this is the brake wear indicator, and not the parking brake indicator, or brake system failure, at the master cylinder. I hope this helps you out.
It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem with the antilock brake system ( as long as the red " brake " light in your dash is not on you still have " normal " braking )
The brake pad sensor light is reset by leaving the key on engine off for about 20sec. If it does not reset retry, if it still does not reset check the wiring of the left front and right rear pad sensors
A problem has been detected with your Antilock Brake System : It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " brakes
Something is wrong with the Antilock Brake System . It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem . As long as the BRAKE light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " brakes

If the ABS light is on when the engine is running there is a problem with the Antilock Brake System . It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem . As long as the BRAKE light is not on in your dash you still have " normal " brakes
Anti-lock Brake System ( if the red BRAKE light is not on in your gauge cluster you still have " normal " brakes If the ABS light is on then there is a problem with the ABS brake system , it could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem
