there is no alternator on the 1992 Lumina its all electric, so there is no need for one.
You'll need some metric sockets. 3/8" drive will be fine. Maybe a small extension and the ratchet. Not to many tools involved.
do i need to change the manifold when replacing thermostat
There is no need to ever change the refrigerant which is R134 and not Freon R12.
Is the timing belt on a j30 infinity run the alternator
I need a step-by-step how to change, remove and replace an alternator in an 1996 Nissan maxima
If it is just like a 1990 Lumina with a 3.1 engine, the alternator sits on top toward the back... There are 3 bolts that hold it on the bracket... DO NOT be fooled... 2 are simple to remove... the 3rd is underneath toward the back... nearly impossible... The simplest way to change it (after taking the belt off of course) is to take the bracket off off the engine... 3 or 4 bolts... Then remove the alternator from the bracket... You will need to remove the hot wire held to the alternator, but be sure to 1st remove the negative wire from the battery or you could shock the @#$% out out of yourself... Hope this helps...
First to change the alternator: *Take out the oil carbronater *Then clean out the exhaust pipe *Take the alternator and clean what is dirty, then you don't need to change it, because now it's clean!
wrench
the alternator will be located close to the top of the motor, you will need to loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the serpentine belt, disconnect the elictrical connections at the alternator and remove the alternator mounting bolts. then just lift the alternator out... as far as tools you will need a basic set of sockets and a screwdriver.
You will need a set of SAE or standard wrenches and SAE sockets and some muscle.
Wrenches: 10 mm, 12mm and 14 mm.
