If the enginge is stock it came from the factory with 165 hourse power.
I'm sure that was the 4L80E transmission.

The V6's came standard with a 2.56 and a 2.73 was optional. The V8's came standard with a 2.41 and a 3.08 was optional
if it came stock with the 305 it should bolt right up, but im no expert Z-44) yes i have a 1985 el camino that originally had a 305 and swapped it for a 350 pretty easily. you can actually fit a 383 with minor changes (different motor mounts etc.)
