most all automatics are a 4GL60 or 4GL60E
there is no cable the trans is all electronic there will be a wiring harness to the trans but no cable.
my 2000 s10 with a 2.2 5 speed is rated at 2000 pounds. so i think the 2001 is the same also.
That manual transmission doesn't use gear oil. You can use Mercon ATF.
Check the transmission dipstick, it is written on the stick what fluid to use.
I was just quoted $1200.00 for a rebuilt transmission for my 98 Chevy S10 Blazer (2wd, 4.3L). I believe this is an installed price. I live in central Georgia and this is probably the oldest and most reputable transmission shop in the area.
