I have a 96 2.2 and had to drop the exhaust from the manifold in order to change the starter. and goos luck.
No, they are different.
The distributor cap on a 96 gmc sonoma is located on the top of the engine towards the back, behind the throttle body next to the firewall.
what do you mean by change there is only one position for the timing mark and that t.d.c. top dead center
No. For one, the transmission from the 96 will be electronically controlled, vs. the mechanically controlled transmission in the 1990.
Easiest way is to buy engine head sealer from the auto parts store., goes anywhere from $20 to $120. It works. Fixed my 96 Sonoma right up. My wife's mustang had a warped head. Dealer said the engine was shot and needed new engine, $3600 to $3800, I order a product online called Thermagard. 20000 miles later still running good.
Remove the pan from the bottom of the transmission. There is no drain plug. Remove bolts from the the front and loosen the rear bolts so that the pan will tilt and the fluid drains out into a container. When you get as much fluid as you can, take out all bolts and lower pan. Filter is inside. Will have bolt holding it or, as mine just a tight fitting on the spout. Replace filter and gasket. a 96 takes 5 quarts, recommended Dextron 111. Hope this helps.
It will bolt up. But it will not work. The 96 transmission is a computer controlled transmission/ Electronic. The 79 is not.
Change lower ball joints on a 96 gmC 4 by 4
If you are referring to the automatic transmission vacuum modulator, there isn't one. The shifting points are computer controlled based on different signals from various sensors.
