The only one that you can use is the factory 4L60E that was put in the truck when it was new. If you try to put anything else but a 4L60E transmission in it IT won't work right. The check engine light will always be on and the engine and transmission will always act up. That year truck has a PCM/ Powertrain Control module-- COMPUTER.
That controls the engine and transmission performance
Yes it will if there both 4x4 Transmissions.
One transmission that will fit a 1991 Chevy Suburban is a 4L80E transmission.
What is the engine in the Caprice? In the Suburban? If they are a 305/350 then they can be interchanged. I have a 1985 Caprice Classic with a 305 and the tranny came out of a 1987 Suburban. It depends on the engine.
NO it will not.
NO. the bellhousings are different on the 96 and 97 transmissions then all the rest of the transmissions in the 90s
TH-350 is the automatic that would. Hope this helps.
Yes they are the same transmissions. Direct swop.
It might fit, but it won't be compatible. The 99 Suburban had an electronically controlled 4L60E, whereas the 1982 350 engine is mechanical, and does not have the ECM necessary to operate that 4L60E transmission.
The 96 and 97 4L60E transmission are THE ONLY 2 YEARS THAT WILL FIT
Yes.
yes anything 1988- 1998 is interchangeable
yes
