George Washington signed one treaty while president of the United States. It was the Jay Treaty that resolved some of the remaining issues of the Revolutionary War.

George Washington did not sign the Declaration of Independence. Representatives from all thirteen original colonies signed it, George Washington was not one of them. Some of the more well known men that did sign it was, Thomas Jefferson (Virginia) and John Hancock (Massachusetts, and Hancock was the first signature on the Declaration!) Benjamin Franklin also signed it (Pennsylvania).
Aboriginal people signed treaties for many reasons. Many of them wanted the benefits of being at peace with the incomers, many were tired of being treated badly, and many wanted to be a citizen.
