It is most extremely unlikely that a tribe (which by definition is not a big social group) would build thousands of miles of roads. It takes an empire to build thousands of miles of roads. This empire was the vast Roman Empire, which was the second largest empire antiquity saw and was and the 17th largest in history.

The Romans built 400,000 kilometres (250,000 miles) or roads throughout the Roman Empire. Of these, 20% (80,500 kilometres, 50,313 miles) were the famous stone-paved roads. Of course, most of these roads did not go to Rome, the capital of the empire. Not surprisingly, the roads which went directly to Rome were in Italy. There were nineteen of them. Many of these had only a regional reach.

Why isn't the Tribe of Dan in the 144000 You demand an explanation?

Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: sealed an hundred forty four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5 Of the tribe of Juda sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad sealed twelve thousand. 6 Of the tribe of Aser sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses sealed twelve thousand. 7 Of the tribe of Simeon sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar sealed twelve thousand. 8 Of the tribe of Zabulon sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin sealed twelve thousand. So it appears as if one of Joseph's sons took Dan's place, wheather this is intentional or a slip up, is hard to say with out the original script. http://www.hubpages.com/hub/biblenames
