There is a pair of gravitational forces between every two masses in Creation.
The two that influence the Earth the most are the Sun and the Moon. But the forces
of gravity are also significant between Earth and Venus, and between Earth and Mars.
Not only in space - gravity is universal. The force of gravity is affected by the distance, and by the masses involved.
This is often measured as something called the "position angle".
If they are farther apart, there is less gravitational pull. Opposite if they are closer together.
When the distance between the two bodies increases, the gravitational force attracting them decreases.
The use of word gravity here is totally wrong as gravity represents the force of gravity which we denote by symbol g, having an approx. value of 9.8 m/s2. When two bodies move apart their Gravitational Force reduces..... The Gravitational force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance b/w their centers. The force of gravity acting on those two bodies remain same on the earth. and it always acts in the downward direction......... Please note that force of gravity and Gravitational Force are two different things...
In positional astronomy ,two celestial bodies are said to be in opposition when they are on opposite sides of the sky, viewed from given place which is usually the Earth.

Earth and sun.
Moon and the sun.
The force of attraction between two bodies is gravity. Or, magnetism...

The mass of the two bodies and the distance between them are determining factors of their gravitational attraction.
The mass of the two bodies (gravity is always between 2 things) and the distance between them.
Two.
The force of gravity between two objects is directly proportional to the product oftheir masses, and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between theircenters. It makes no difference whether the objects are two bits of lint in your pocket, the Sun and Halley's comet, or two galaxies that are billions of light years apart.
