I think you are confusing something. Sound waves, and electromagnetic waves, are two different types of waves.
The speed of electromagnetic waves in a vacuum is the same as the speed of light (which is, in itself an electromagnetic wave). It can be measured by finding the frequency and wavelength of two different waves, and then by that correlation, the speed of the waveform.
False
Electromagnetic wave is a form of transmitted energy. Electromagnetic radiation is so-named because it has electric and magnetic fields that simultaneously oscillate in planes mutually perpendicular to each other and to the direction of propagation through space. Electromagnetic wave has the dual nature ,i.e ,it exhibits wave properties and particulate properties both.A particle on the classical view is a concentration of energy and other properties in space and time, whereas a wave is spread out over a larger region of space and time. An electromagnetic wave is supposed to have both characters.
Take your pick: water waves, sound waves, electromagnetic waves, gravitational waves.

The wave model of light and the particle model of light.

Transverse and Compressional electromagetic waves Another opinion: No electromagnetic waves are compressional waves. They're all transverse. I think what the question was looking for is: -- Heat and visible light -- Radio waves and X-rays -- Ultraviolet and gamma rays etc.

Those two descriptions are not mutually exclusive, and in fact, electromagnetic waves do both.
Microwaves and sound waves are similar because they are electromagnetic waves. The main difference between the two types of waves is the length of the wave. Sound waves are longer than microwaves.
Kinetic and electromagnetic energy can travel in waves.
we use electromagnetic waves in radios and cell phones
There are two types of smoke detectors:Alpha particle - these do not use electromagnetic wavesPhotoelectric - these use a beam of either visible lightor near infrared electromagnetic waves
