In both the traits only the dominant alleles phenotype will make an appearance.

When a dominant and a recessive allele occurs, then the dominant allele rules over the recessive allele and the dominant trait is manifested. This combination of a dominant and a recessive allele causes the formation of a heterozygous genotype.

A recessive trait manifests itself only when both the alleles are recessive causing the occurrence of a recessive homozygous genotype. (A homozygous genotype has two copies of the same allele).

I asked my dad this question who is a science teacher and he said that it would be a mutation because you get one allele from your mom and another allele from your dad.

How are dominant and recessive genes?

If you are talking about traits, dominant traits and recessive traits both have alleles. Dominant traits are alleles that cover up the expression of other alleles. One dominant allele with one recessive allele makes a dominant trait. Two dominant alleles together also make a dominant trate. Recessive traits are alleles that are only expressed when there is no dominant trait to cover them up. Two recessive alleles make a recessive trait. Traits can be passed over to the next generation. Two alleles together make a genotype, which is the inherited combination of alleles. Alleles: different versions of the same gene. Heredity: determined by genes. Genes: piece of DNA that shows the cell how to make a protein it needs.

How are dominant and recessive genes related?

Dominate them. Recessive alleles do not show in your phenotype unless you have two of the same recessive allele. But if you inherit one dominant and one recessive, it is the dominant that always shows in your phenotype.

What are traits inherited by multiple alleles?

Dominant Traits.

What type of traits is inherited if an organism receives recessive alleles?

The trait received is recessive.

Are dominant alleles naturally better for an organism?

No, recessive alleles are equally likely to be inherited (if your dealing with only those two types of alleles). BUT, dominant alleles are the ones that show up. That is precisely why they are called dominant. Compared to recessive alleles, dominant ones will overrule the others, making it the one inherited.

What controls the traits of alleles that are neither dominant nor recessive?

this is called codominance

Explain segregation of alleles using pea plants?

if the pea plant has 2 recessive alleles then the plant is gonna come out short.but if it has 1 recessive and one dominant allele then the plant turns out tall, because the dominant allele can be present without the recessive allele.

How is the inheritance of traits controlled in organisms?

Individual alleles control the inheritance of traits. Some alleles are dominant, while others recessive.

Why are ratios so important in understanding how dominant and recessive traits are inherited?

you are fake

What are the 3 main points how traits are inherited?

The 3 main points of how traits are inherited are: 1)Traits are controlled by alleles on chromosomes. 2) An allele's effect is dominant or recessive. 3)When a pair of chromosomes separates during meiosis, the different alleles for a trait move into separate sex cells. How is a dominant trait represented in a punnett square?

Dominant alleles are written in upper case (i.e, 'A'), while recessive alleles are lower case (i.e, 'a')
