a 912 Porsche engine will fit in a beetle
Porsche and Volkswagen have always been similar in design. Porsche engines will not fit into a beetle very easily. Just four bolts, three wires, one fuel line and one cable (only old Porsche 356 motor) .
It should.. I have a 79 1600cc in my 65 beetle.
Answeryes
I'd say it is highly unlikely, unless you are an engineering wizard (but then you would not be asking the question here ;-) The Porsche has a flat-6 engine that is quite different from most inline-4 ('Japanese type' engines). What you could fit without any problems would be a Volkswagen beetle or 356 engine (that was actually done by Porsche themselves, selling it as '912' model). Even if you succeed in putting a Japanese engine into the car, you would effectively be destroying a classic car and losing much money when you ever think about selling it again.
Engine case? The engine for the 78 bus is what is referred to as the Type 4 engine, which is vastly different from the Type 1 engine case used stock in the 1966 bug.It would require a lot of fabrication to fit this Type 4 engine in a Type 1 Beetle, but it has been done.
yes...need a 200mm bug flywheel machined to fit the porsche motor
I have seen anything from a buick turbocharged V-6 to a 500+ hp ls corvette engine
The 1975 regular Beetle windshield will fit the 1971 Super Beetle.
Yes it should do
No. You really aren't serious, are you?
No.
Although, they are both Type 1 cars. The floor pan for the Thing is different than for a Beetle. One might fit on the other, but it won't necessarily be a perfect fit.
