Aviation fuel. In the past, they could run on 80LL or 100LL. 80LL is no longer available. Unleaded avgas types, such as 93UL, 94UL, 100LL, 102LL, etc. are still undergoing certification.

That depends on which Cessna. Many of the earlier Cessnas were made to run on regular auto gasoline, however now most need avgas or jet fuel.

i have no recollection of the plane using anything other than aviation fuel. its speed was in its design and engines.

That depends which one. There are mant types of Cessna and you would have to name a type for such an answer
