∙ 9y agoLeukemia is a type of white blood cell cancer. It begins in the marrow and the white cell numbers become very large and abnormal. Fewer red blood cells are made than should be. The name actually means "white blood" because of this. A person will have problems with clotting and carrying oxygen as those blood cells types are very low.
