Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) have always worn clothing similar to their culture and current fashion, but with the addition of modesty. In pioneer times, Mormon women generally wore long dresses with full skirts, and men wore pants with long-sleeved button down shirts.

What modern Mormons wear is also based on their culture, for example in Africa a Mormon women will probably wear a dress with a bright pattern, while in the U.S. one is more likely to wear jeans and a t-shirt. While Mormons wear clothing that is typical in their culture, they also strive to wear modest clothing. This means that they do not wear shirts, tops, or dresses without sleeves, they do not wear 'midriff' shirts that show the belly, there are no low-cut tops, and they do not wear shorts or skirts above the knee. When attending Church or participating in Church service (such as missionary work), Mormon women wear skirts, and men wear dress slacks and ties, or full suits.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly called "Mormons") always wear all-white formal wear when attending temple services. They change into their white suits (shoes, ties etc) for men and dresses for women after entering the temple. Everyone must wear long sleeves and long pants/skirts. Dressing rooms and lockers are provided.

If you are visiting a Temple for an open house or a wedding, you do not need to wear white, just dress in what you would consider your "Sunday Best" or "Business attire".

You can see examples of the white clothing Mormons wear it the temple at the "Related Links" below.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) wear whatever they want and whatever is common in their culture. They do tend to dress slighly more modest and conservative than most Americans, but you probably couldn't pick one out in a crowd.

When Church members are going to church meetings or serving as missionaries, the men will wear suits or dress shirts and ties, and the women will wear skirts or dresses.

You can see some images and videos of typical Church members at the "Related Links" below.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) can wear whatever they want. The Church does have clothing standards that most members choose to follow. These guidelines suggest that Church members dress modestly, avoiding "short shorts and skirts, tight clothing, shirts that do not cover the stomach, and other revealing attire". They are expected to wear shirts that cover the shoulders, cleavage, stomach, and back. They are also expected to avoid extremes in fashion, such as wild hairstyles, tattoos, excessive piercings, etc.

Otherwise, most Mormons dress the same as others in their nation or culture, and don't stand out in a crowd. They wear jeans and t-shirts just like everyone else. For Church, women typically wear skirts or dresses, and men wear suits or slacks and ties.

Mormon missionaries are held to a higher standard of dress, and must dress in "Sunday Best" unless they are exercising or participating in a messy service activity. Male missionaries must wear a white shirt, dark slacks, and a tie. Female missionaries must wear skirts or dresses that reach below the knee.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) has published guidelines about how members are expected to dress. These guidelines say that Church members are expected to dress modestly to show respect for their bodies - which are a God-created gift. Immodest or inappropriate clothing includes short shorts and skirts, tight clothing, shirts that do not cover the stomach, clothing that does not cover the shoulder or that is low cut in front or back, or anything that is sloppy or inappropriately casual.

It depends on what her wedding will be like.

If the bride chooses to have her wedding ceremony in the Temple, the dress she wears in the temple must be all white, floor length, no train, long sleeves, a high neck, and very little ornamentation. Brides are encouraged to have their dresses approved by the Temple prior to the wedding. Veils and headpieces are not allowed, and flat shoes are recommended.

Because of the strict modesty rules of the Temple, most Mormon brides choose to have one dress for their temple ceremony and another for their photos and reception. Mormons are encouraged to dress modestly and typically choose dresses with sleeves and high necklines, although it has become popular for these reception dresses to include more ornamentation and color. The bride may also choose any accessories (veils, shoes, jewelry) she wants for the reception.

If the ceremony is taking place outside of the temple, whether in a church building or another venue, brides are encouraged but not required to choose a dress with sleeves.

The Mormon church considers the Sabbath day a holy day that should be treated different than every other day. Sunday best clothing is the general rule, and most girls and women wear a dress, or nice blouse with a skirt. However, if none is available, then your best clothes are ok. Modesty is more important. Low neck lines, tank tops, and short skirts are generally unacceptable for worship service.

Church is not meant to be a fashion show. However, respect for the Lord can be shown by wearing modest and clean clothing.

The dress code followed by most of the church focuses more on modesty than fashion or style. There are, in fact, as many individual styles in the church as there are members. On Sunday, men are encouraged to wear shirts and ties. Many wear suits. Women generally wear dresses, and are encouraged to keep hem lines below the knee. In general, the way we dress should be such that we would not feel uncomfortable in the presence of the Savior.

However, it should also be noted that as long as people are appropriately covered, we do not turn people away from our services if they happen to be wearing jeans and a tee shirt. We firmly believe the Lord's statement that the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.

Even in our casual, non-sabbath attire we try to maintain a modest look. This is fully in keeping with the Savior's teachings that our bodies are temples of the Spirit, and should be treated accordingly.

Most Mormons wear nicer clothes to worship services, although there is no dress code, and you can wear whatever you wish.

Men:
Most men wear slacks with a white shirt and tie. Suits and sport coats or blazers are also common. You will see men wearing colored or even patterned button-down shirts with or without ties, but white is the standard.

Women:
Most women wear dresses or skirts that reach at least to the knee and tops that cover the shoulders. Dress pants are rarely seen, but acceptable. Dress styles range from more casual knit skirts and t-shirts to structured business-like suits and blouses.

Children:
Young children don't typically dress as formally as their parents. For boys, colored or patterned button-down shirts or polo style shirts are quite common, but you will also see boys wearing suits or white shirts and ties. Teenage boys usually dress like the adult men. Girls usually wear dresses or skirts like the women.

How Mormons live in massachuetts?

Mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) in Massachusetts live just the same as Mormons most anywhere else. Mormons blend with the culture of their community, live in typical homes, dress in typical clothing, and have typical jobs. Mormons do tend to be very religious and believe that worship is the way you live your life, not just what you do at church. Mormons often hold daily family prayer and scripture study in their homes. They believe in clean living and avoid smoking, drugs, alcohol, and coffee. While Mormons still wear the fashions of the day, they avoid revealing clothing or 'extreme' looks. Mormons also devote much of their time to service both in the community and in their congregations.

Do Mormons usually dress up?

No. Most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) wear casual clothing like jeans and t-shirts for a majority of the time. Mormons do dress up for worship services. Mormon missionaries are the only Mormons required to dress up most of the time. They must wear conservative business attire (white shirt, suit, and tie for men; long skirt and modest blouse for women) unless they are exercizing or doing a service project that would require more casual clothing (such as gardening, construction, or disaster cleanup) Check out the photos under "Related Links" below to see Mormons dressed in typical clothing.

Yup! They are always supposed to be kept clean, it would be wasteful and expensive if you couldn't re-use them! They are made in a variety of machine washable fabrics, so they are usually just thrown in with the regular laundry.

Should a apostolic pentecostal wear skirts in public?

People attending a Pentecostal church can wear any clothing they choose. If you are female, wear what you feel happy with, be it a skirt, jeans or slacks. I've seen all types of clothing. All people have different tastes. The "Pentecostals" are believers in God like most Christian denominations and we don't have set rules on what clothing to wear, long as we look decent. If a church tells its followers what clothing to wear or not to wear, then get out of that church and find another one. God is interested in our heart not what we wear, provided that we dress decently. No church has the right to tell its followers what clothing to wear.
