Although a healthy diet and lifestyle is optimal, sometimes people like to buy products and try new things. I am not very overweight (I'm about average), but I use a product called the "apple patch diet". It looks like a terrible infomercial-type product at first, and I only tried it because I got it free with something, but I really like it. I feel a lot better, have more energy, and have tightened up quite a bit. Here is the link if you'd like to see what I'm talking about. www.applepatchdiet.com/ae72901.
I think the best diet for teens would be eating lots of fruits and vetables and dont eat any junk food. Also excersise regulary. And DONT starve yourself! That is the worst thing to do!
A healthy diet for a teenager is eating right according to the Food Guide Pyramid! If a teenager eats a balanced diet, he or she will be much more healthy than someone who does not.
Check out mypyramid.gov. It's a Web site designed to be a guide for those trying to create a healthy diet.
I would just recommend cutting out fatty and sugary foods.
Instead of eating hot lunch, pack a lunch for yourself. Try using things like whole wheat
bread, fruit or applesauce, juice, and string cheese.
I also lost 5 pounds by cutting out soda
completely. If that's too hard, try drinking Diet Soda....but do know that the sugar substitute in diet soda can be very unhealthy in large amounts.
Try chewing a piece of gum when you feel that mid afternoon or after dinner snack craving and you can save yourself almost 300 calories.
Along with eating better, try to excersise at least three times a week. It doesn't have to
be hardcore....just enough to get you moving.
As a teen, you're probably dealing with stress as well....which is not a good thing when
trying to lose or maintain weight. Stress can lead to emotional eating, or can go to the other extreme and cause you to lose weight too rapidly, which is very unhealthy.
Talk to your parents and friends and make sure you have a support system.
I know what it's like to struggle with weight issues at such a stressful time in life. Best of luck and stay healthy :)
The best diet for a teenager is one with a variety of food groups like fruits, veggies, meat, and diary. Whole grains are great for fiber as well. The diet should really exclude as much trans fats, saturated fats, and sodas as much as possible.
