My 2004 Honda uses 5w-20 . Use a good quality detergent oil listed for gasoline engines.

On my 2005 Element it goes like this. Turn off engine. Press and hold the Select/Reset button on the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch to on. Hold the button for about 10 seconds until the indicator light goes out.
When the oxygen sensor goes bad, the check engine light goes on.
