Look under the dash between steering column and driver's side door, you may have to lay on your back to see under the dash and take a flashlight, the fuses are marked around the outside of the box to tell you what they are for, and under the hood up next to the firewall on the driver's side is another set of important fuses, different type than under the dash, but take a look, they are also marked as to what they control.

Fuse box is located under the steering column by your left foot in the driving position. There is a small plunger type knob you pull, then the fuse panel will swing down. The fuses are labelled on the side of the box. Dave

engine swapShort answer, no. Based on information from ADP Hollander. Edit:There should be no problem, provided that they were the same type, ie, two V6's or two I4's. I have the engine from a '96 Contour or Mystique in my 2000 Cougar with no problems, you wont even have to deal with the issue of return-vs-returnless fuel systems.
Hi, I work for Fram. Your Mystique oil filter is a TG8316 if it is a four cylinder engine, it will be a XG2 if it is a six cylinder engine. If you have further questions, i can be reached at jay.buckley@honeywell.com
My '97 Mystique 4 cyl calls for 5W-30 oil. Check the owners manual, if you don't have it, google for it. As for brand, I use Pennzoil, but it's all pretty much the same.
No, while the same type of transmission, they are drilled differently, You can look for an appropriate transmission off of a Ford Contour, or Mercury Mystique, both of which shared the cougars drive train.
