Primarily carbon dioxide, CO2. Carbon monoxide (CO) is such a small fraction it isn't significant.

Cars also emit some water vapor (H2O), but this amount is trivial. Water vapor tends to be self regulating anyway.

There are many.

From the engine:

  • carbon monoxide
  • carbon dioxide
  • nitrogen oxides
  • water vapour
  • unburned hydrocarbon
  • reformed hydrocarbons

From the fuel system:

  • Fugitive hydrocarbons
  • Alcohols

Miscellaneous:

  • Ethylene glycol from the antifreeze
  • Solvents and organics from the tyres
  • Plasticizers from the interior plastics and upholstery

Do microbes requie oxygen to produce the greenhouse gas method?

yes they do

What greenhouse gases do watermelon produce?

Some people want to convert old discarded fruits and rinds into ethanol. This can be mixed into gasoline for cars. When you burn it, it produces carbon dioxide, our most infamous greenhouse gas. This produces more greenhouse gas because we are burning the fruit instead of letting it rot and become buried safely in the ground.

The cars we drive primarily contribute to the production of which greenhouse gas?

carbon dioxide

Do vehicle emissions affect the greenhouse effect?

Our cars add to the greenhouse effect because our cars let off dangerous gases including carbon dioxide, smog, carbon particulates and nitric acidsA:Assuming that anthropogenic greenhouse gas sources are major players in the greenhouse effect, cars would contribute to the greenhouse effect by their emissions of carbon dioxide. Cars can also contribute to greenhouse gases by releasing unburned gasoline components which can, through a series of reactions that require sunlight to get them to work, create ozone in the lower atmosphere. Ozone is also known to be a greenhouse gas.

What excess gas do cars produce?

carbon monoxide?

How can a pound of gasoline equals 3 pounds of greenhouse gas?

Short answer, it can't. Long answer, the "theory" is that the individual components of gasoline combine with components of the air when combusted to produce "greenhouse gas".

What kind of gas do cars produce?

Cars produce a kind of poisonous gas known as carbon monoxide but if you have a catalytic converter it converts the carbon monoxide into harmless gas known as carbon dioxide

Does gasoline produce greenhouse gas?

Yes, gasoline or petrol is a fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), and burning it releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that has been hidden away for 300 million years.
