England has had most types of industry known to man. This ranges from agriculture, to mining primarily tin and coal, to oil production to steel producing, cotton and wool textile industries, and more recently computer chip manufacture. Many of the older types of industry including car plants and other types of heavy engineering and manufacturing are in decline with a rise in so called service industries providing technical expertise.
