ROM is classified as Secondary Storage because, it retains information even when not being read/refreshed or powered in some way. As opposed to Primary Storage which constantly requires power and must be refreshed to retain any information it contains.
ROM stands for Read Only Memory, it is commonly used with CD-ROM, which stands for Compact Disk Read Only Memory.
There is also an acronym of WORM, which is Write Once Read Many.
Well, they are both types of memory that consume space and storage in the computer. So in a way, ROM is a type of RAM. Hope this helped
***Edit:
No, ROM is Read-Only Memory such as a CD-ROM, DVD, Magnetic Tape, or other form of media that is one time use only. Generally used for data storage.
RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a set of chips that fit on your motherboard used to hold programs and processes in active memory. When you open a program like Microsoft Word, it calls the executable and all necessary resources into RAM so it can actually run.
Hope this helps more.
