According to the 2002 Ford Explorer Owner Guide :
With engine oil filter change :
The 4.0 liter V6 engine takes ( 4.7 liters / 5.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-30 )
The 4.6 liter V8 engine takes ( 5.7 liters / 6.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
Listed on the A/C system somewhere. It for sure does not use Freon which is R12. More than likely uses R134a
R 134a
A 1998 Ford Explorer uses refrigerant 134a
I'm assuming it would be the same as the 1994 Ford EXPLORER transfer case ( MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) I know that's what my 1995 Ford Explorer uses
I don't think so , the 1995 Ford Explorer uses an electronically controlled transmission ( 4R55E I believe ) instead of the A4LD transmission that is in the 1994 Ford Explorer
Yes , the 4.0 liter SOHC V6 engine in a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport uses the Motorcraft FL-820S engine oil filter according to the Owner Guide
On a 1991 Ford Explorer : The A4LD automatic transmission uses MERCON automatic transmission fluid according to my Haynes Ford Explorer repair manual * the type of fluid used should be engraved into the automatic transmission fluid level dipstick
The 1992 Ford Explorer uses an A4LD automatic transmission
I ASSUME that would be ( type " F " automatic transmission fluid ) like the 1992 Ford EXPLORER uses as the power steering fluid
The 2003 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter V6 engine uses ( 5W-30 ) With engine oil filter change it takes : ( 4.7 litres / 5.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-30 )
According to what I've read ( no ) The 1991 to 1994 Ford Explorer uses the same engine block The 1995 and 1996 Ford Explorer uses a different engine block The 1997 to 2000 Ford Explorer uses a different engine block again When it comes to the 4.0 liter OHV engine P.S. I'm not a mechanic / technician
The 1994 Ford Escort LX uses R-134a Freon. This type of refrigerant was used in all Ford Escorts from 1994 through 2002.
