From 1991 to 1995 the only engine available in the Ford Explorer was the 4.0 liter OHV ( over head valve ) V6 - six cylinder engine
In a 1995 Ford Taurus : ( 5W-30 is the PREFERRED engine oil for the 3.0 and 3.8 )
10w-30 or 5w-30 are both acceptable choices.
A 1995 Ford Taurus ( 3.8 and 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine ) Came from the factory with a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water and GREEN color antifreeze ( meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A ) * Ford states not to exceed 60% antifreeze in the mix *
You could have a 2.3 L SOHC 4 cylinder engine , or a 3.0 L or 4.0 L OHV V6 engine
If it is a 1.25 Zetec engine then the oil must be 5w 30 If it is an Endura engine 5w 40. Hope that helps!
