Use a synthetic that conforms to MB 229.3 or 229.5 Mobil 1 0-40 or Castrol Syntec 0-40 both conform, and it is written on the back label. The front label reads "European Car Formula."
5-30 is good enough for your lawn mower or your Ford. BTW the MB 229.3 and 229.5 spec is from Mercedes Benz pertaining to a particular formulation. $6.99/qt. at Autozone.
