Visio is flowcharting software: it has symbols for networks, office organizations, data flow (computer programming) and more. The best part of it is the ability to connect things via movement lines and then if you need to move the objects (computers, offices etc.) the movement lines automatically follow.

Yes. In Office Visio 2007, you can open and use any Visio diagram created with a previous version of Visio. You can also open an Office Visio 2007 diagram in Visio 2003 because they both use the same file format. You can open an Office Visio 2007 diagram in Visio 2002 by first saving the diagram in the Visio 2002 file format. Be carefule though, version-specific functionality will be unavailable after saving your diagram in a previous version of Visio.
I was able to load and run Visio 4.0 on a Windows 7 PC. Just run the CDSETUP.EXE program from the CD. You'll need admin privileges to install. You'll also need to set Comparability mode to Windows 98. If you don't do this, the program will freeze at the splash screen. I'm in a domain environment where users do not have admin rights. I also needed to give Users full write access to the C:\program Files\Visio directory
