Depends on the department, and they may use lasers instead. Just Google "police radar guns" for a sample.
There are currently no manufacturers that are making this offer.

Not to sound blunt, but I would recommend not speeding to begin with. Don't speed? Slow down. Do it when the cops aren't around or you can also get a radar detector.
no, unless of emergency
I know in my expierience with law enforcement it's called a speed trap, however, I have never heard of a situation where the person speeding was pulled over 30 minutes later. That is a big gap leaving room for error in vehicle tracking. But to answer your question one police officer running radar may have you locked in as speeding when you pass his location and pass it on over the radio to another officer down the road. I work on a military installation and we have had speed enforcement events where we would have one police officer shooting radar and a another police officer directing the vehicles speeding into a parking lot and another police officer cutting the tickets.
During the upcoming months millions of people will go on road trips where they drive to various parts of the country. During their trips most people will inevitably have to decide whether they want to risk a speeding ticket by driving over the speeding limit. Luckily, there are ways that you can beat a speeding ticket while driving. The most effective way to beat a speeding ticket would be to use a radar detector. A radar detector will detect when a police officer is using a radar gun. In the event that a radar gun is being used in your proximity a series of beeps will occur on the device. When this occurs you should speed down to avoid being caught speeding and charged with a speeding ticket.
Police use a radar gun to catch speeders because with a radar gun, you can see the speed limit somebody's doing and if it is way over the real speed limit, you just put on your lights and siren and chase after them. So, you use a radar gun. **********PEACE*********LOVE***************ROCK ON*************
In most U.S. states, no, but you don't have any way to enforce traffic laws or write speeding tickets.
A radar that the police use to detect stuff.
Police speed traps using Radars rely on Doppler to tell vehicle speed.
