R-12, unless it has been retrofitted for 134A. If it is R-12 it is probably not worth the expense to charge it. R-12 is very expensive now as it has not been used by auto manufacturers for 15 years. Most likely will be cheaper to retrofit with 134A if all elements of cooling system in good working order.
