I used a dexron iii compatible one...£7.99 from halfords and suitable for jags...Good luck
All power steering fluids are the same. You do not need to buy a brand name to get a good fluid.
check the power steering fluid level...if its good, have power steering checked out
A good quality power steering fluid from any auto parts store will work. If you are not near a store with power steering fluid you can substitute a good tranmission fluid for Chrysler vehicles. BE CAREFUL AND CHECK THE YEAR , ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER'S 1985 MANUAL, NEVER , NEVER, NEVER USE TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP, POWER STEERING FLUID ONLY.
YES. your power steering pump is a hydraulic pump that pushes fluid through lines to make your wheels move. hydraulic fluid such as ATF or POWER STEERING FLUID is good for your power steering pump. it is a PUMP after all. OIL has the purpose of lubricating, and has very different qualities than hydraulic fluid. DO NOT put OIL in your power steering pump... put POWER STEERING FLUID or if you can't get power steering fluid AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID will do...
You can use the regular power steering fluid from you local auto parts, or use Dexron III transmission fluid. Either is good.
Use any fluid for use in power steering systems that is labeled Power Steering Fluid.1984-2001 Cherokee Owners Manuals and Factory Service Manuals both state in bold letters DO NOT USE ANY ATF IN THE POWER STEERING.
Yes, you can use either for power steering however YOU CAN NOT use power steering in your trans. Good question!
The power steering fluid might be low. Add some power steering fluid to see if that helps. The power steering fluid chamber is under the hood. It might also be the belt that drives the power steering pump. There are products to lubricate belts and quiet them down. These are available, as is the power steering fluid, from a good auto supply store. Or you could have a shop top off your fluid and put on a bit of the "belt quiet" stuff.
Check power steering fluid. If it is good, probly need a new PS pump.
good idea
The power steering fluid in E39 BMW's are located by the front of the car. It is marked ATF on the cap. Good Luck.
