You need to go the dealer and buy the correct transmission fluid.It is very critical that you have the correct amount in the transmission also. You will need to buy the special tool (dipstick) for using to measure the level only and then remove it and keep it in a safe place. You can purchase one on the internet or the dealer should be able to get one for you.

On my 1998 E320, the factory manufactured the transmission without a dipstick. It was assumed it wouldn't need one. I bought one from the dealer and then serviced my transmission with dealer fluid, filter, seals, etc.
