The type of Transmission Fluid to use should be engraved into your
automatic transmission fluid dipstick ( at least it is on the newer model
years )
According to the 1997 Lincoln Town Car Owner Guide : ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) * check to see if the type used is engraved in your automatic transmission fluid dipstick *
According to the 1998 Lincoln Town Car Owner Guide : Motorcraft MERCON - V automatic transmission fluid ( the type used should be engraved on the transmission fluid dipstick )

A 2002 Chrysler Town and Country requires ATF+4 transmission fluid.
A 2003 Chrysler Town and Country uses ATF+4 ,transmission fluid.
Check your manual.

theres not really a type of fluid, theres just different names brands but its all the same transmission fluid, that i know of anyway.
