What upgrade on your computer can improve the quality of graphics?

Several factors can effect graphics. The most obvious is your video card (GPU). First of all, check to make sure you have the correct driver installed for your video card. You can use Driver Booster or Driver Magician to do this. The most likely to succeed is upgrading your Graphics card and installing the correct drvers for it--this will probably give you improved quality. If the drivers do not come with the GPU, then you can usually find them on the manufacturer's website. If all else fails, try Driver Booster.

You should also make sure that you have enough RAM. A lack of RAM space will usually cause lag, but sometimes a failure to load. A simple (although not entirely professional) way to check is to open the Proformance tab in Task Manager (Task Manager can be opened with the key combo Ctrl+Shift+Esc). If the Lower graph (pagefile usage) shows over half, you might need some more RAM. If it is a half or less, you probably have enough. You could even consider upgrading your CPU, since it could be unable to handle more graphics-intensive tasks. If this were the problem you would probably recieve error messages or the graphics would lag. This is not usually the problem, however.
