I couldn't find the PL20049, but I could find the L20049. The PL typically designates a Purolator PureOne oil filter. The L20049 is for small block chevy's. You need one of the following: 2.4L 4 cylinder: PH3506 3.4L 6 cylinder: PH3387A These are Fram numbers but you can cross these numbers into your favorite brand
After researching the L20049 filter and the correct filter for your 2.4L Grand AM, L14006, I am going to say no. Reason why: The gasked OD on the L20049 is 3.444" and the gasket OD on the L14006 is 2.734". Therefore it is doubtful that you will get a good seal using the PL20049 oil filter. A computer from a 1992 Wrangler with the same engine is what is compatible.
I found this filter on Amazon here:http://www.amazon.com/Purolator-L10111-Classic-Oil-Filter/dp/B000C6IXFG You will find there a list of all vehicles this filter fits.
that makes no sense
