After the loss of Singapore, Australia realised that the United States would be the only nation that could provide them with large support to resist invasion. However, the two nations still worked together, particularly the British Pacific fleet which contained the Royal Australian Navy, where they fought at Okinawa.

Australia's involvement with Britain in 1914 or WW1 was quite all over the place, they were like rivals but not enemies, they kind of despised each other but when it came to danger they would ark up and protect each other no matter the cost. Australia thought of Britain as their 'mother country' and proudly fought for them in WW1 when Britain stepped up to its alliances with Belgium. Many young men were proud to fight for their country/mother country
