well what goal exactly? but yes he has had many obstacles. his State of the Union Address pretty much stated that he was. he was trying to get republicans and Democrat's, congress, America, etc to help him achieve some of these goals because with out them hes nothing.

Back when Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, his parents' marriage was unusual-- in fact, in some states, a marriage between a black person and a white person was still illegal. Another obstacle was having no father around-- his biological father left when young Barack was only two, and had little contact with him after that. Another obstacle was having to move to Indonesia when his mom remarried; he had to learn a new language and a new culture. A final obstacle, later in his life, was wanting to go into politics despite having had no political experience and not having wealthy donors to support his campaign.
