Henry was a very fun-loving person, he loved sport and hunting while he was young, and when he was old it was a burden to him that he could no longer be athetic. He was scholarly, and studied religion, he considered himself a buff on the subject. He would have told you he was very pious, and he did go to many masses a day, throughout his life. He was very selfish, vain, in his older years he was very tempermental, one moment happy and the next upset. He was very sensitive, and was also a warm, caring person. I dislike it when people simply name him as "evil", when they in fact do not know enough about him to make such a judgement. He was a man, with all the flaws we all have. But I believe that, all in all, Henry was a good man.

  • Overly flamboyant (weeks of crying after Catherine Howard's unfaithfulness to him)
  • Frequent tantrums when his policies did not work
  • Very execution-happy

When he was young Henry was very athletic and liked sports, hunting and fighting. He was considered charming and witty.

However as he ruled and grew older he showed himself to be greedy, short tempered and lecherous. He robbed the monasteries for money after spending all the money his father had saved. He had many affairs even though he killed one of his wives for suspected infidelity and he turned on his friends and advisors when they didn't agree with him.

At the end of his rule he was not a popular king and is generally considered to have been a "bad" king.
