Thoreau was against the Mexican War (he didn't want further expansion of slave states) so he is bitter towards the government. Even if it's not the matter of the Mexican War, Thoreau doesn't like the government, like other Trensendentalists, he doesn't like powerful government controlling peope's lives.
even though she was in jail she said it was still worth it

Gandhi served his longest time in jail when he served 2 years in jail in India. Yerwanda Jail in Pune is where he did a six day fast that forced the government to pass laws that helped the untouchables.
He tried to overthrow the German government at the time.
In Australia jail is spelt gaol which is the same as the British way of spelling it.Answer It's spelled jail in the media and by many people generally, gaol in official government documents (and on the signs outside gaols!).
even though she was in jail she said it was still worth it

Robinson was housed in the county jail while he awaited trial.
You need to have the court papers served to him while he is in jail. He probably won't get custody while he is in jail.
