There are many days described as 'Bloody Sunday', in the history of many countries. Here are three of the most well known ones, two in Ireland and one in Russia.

Dublin 21st Nov 1920 when Michael Collin's 'squad' killed a total of 14 thereby effectively destroying the British inteligence service in Dublin. In retaliation Crown [British] Forces opened fire on the crowd at a football match in Croke Park killing a number of civilians, after which three prisoners in Dublin Castle were shot 'trying to escape' - a set of photos were later released by the Crown Forces showing this attempted escape!

Derry 30th Jan 1972 when British forces opened fire on a civil rights march killing 14. Despite a huge amount of money being spent on enquries up to the present it has never been conclusively proven if the claim that the British forces were fired on first from behind the march was true.

St. Petersburg January 22 1905 On the Sunday, striking workers and their families gathered at six points in the city of St. Petersburg. They were organized and led by Father Gapon, a Russian priest who was concerned about the conditions experienced by the working and lower classes. He drew up a petition to be presented to the Tsar, making clear the problems and opinions of the workers, and calling for improved working conditions, fairer wages and a reduction in the working day to eight hours. - Wikipedia
