A sweatshop is where people who work in factories are forced to work long hours for very little pay, because there is no other way to earn a living.

In the US, sweatshops are illegal because we have a minimum wage both Federally and State wide Most sweatshops are in Asian countries and mostly women are the victims since they are in the garment industry where they sew Bras and other lingerie items for very little. On the upside, at least they are earning money which a lot of their countrymen are not.

A sweatshop's working environment is considered to be unacceptably difficult or dangerous- especially by developed countries with high standards of living.

A sweatshop is a factory or workshop, especially those that make garments. This is where manual workers are employed at low wages and under poor working conditions.

A sweatshop is a factory where workers are crowded together in unsafe conditions. They are paid low wages and little care is taken to protect them.
