The members of Bowling for Soup all grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and attended Rider High School. They've always said that they were never the "popular kids at school" and were the guys the class clowns stole their jokes from. All were in bands previous to Bowling for Soup, and Chris Burney even owned a coffee shop in which his and Erik Chandler's band - The Folkadots - played. Jaret Reddick was in a hard metal band called Coolfork, while Gary Wiseman was in "Gary and the Wisemen".
Bowling for Soups first song was "Thirteen". It was written in 1995 and was on their self-titled album.
"Scope" was Bowling for Soups first single. It was released in 1998 and was from the album "Rock On Honorable Ones!!"

Soups are primarily categorized into two main classes: clear soups and thick soups. Clear soups, like consommé or broth, are typically transparent and made by simmering ingredients in water. Thick soups, such as cream soups or purées, have a denser consistency achieved through the incorporation of ingredients like flour, cream, or blended vegetables. Each class offers a variety of flavors and textures to suit different culinary preferences.
