your vin number determines what engine you require . but you can put a v-8 4.6 litre with some modifications
What does your owner's manual say? I would change them if the engine is not performing as it should, you are getting poor mileage, or you have over 75,000 miles on these plugs.
You do not have to change the timing chain. It is designed to last the life of the engine.

Fords change in different stages. Some years, there are very few changes. Some years they change out the body style or engines. For instance, the 2005 and 2008 Ford Explorer are very similar. But the 2011 Ford Explorer has a totally re-designed body and has an Eco-Boost engine.
If an Explorer engine oil change soon light stays on, the sensor needs replaced. The sensor may also need reset by holding the button down for five seconds.

This light has to be reset by the person doing the oil change. It is not automatic when the oil is changed.
