During his several successful military campaigns he conquered the territory of Gaul, which now is France, then he advanced to Britain, but was unable to conquer the entire territory. He later controlled Egypt and defeated his Roman enemies who controlled part of Africa and Spain, taking control over those lands as well and ruling them as a dictator.
