Nothing, just God. Not even Time. Then, God spoke a single sentence (Hence the tern UNI-VERSE - Latin) and space (or the Universe) was created. Then (in the order given in Genesis chapter 1) God created the Earth, the Stars and the Planets (and whatever else, like angels etc). God did this all in 6 days (NOT A FEW BILLION!!!). Any case, nothing could have existed before us (other than that which was created in the first five days) because it says everything was created in the six days (including time). Also, it says Eve was the mother of all living (not necessarily biologically but in the sense that she was one of the fist living creatures).
