Best Answer

John Brown's mission was to abolish Slavery. On October 16th 1859, John Brown and his 21 men attacked Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Thinking the slaves would rise and fight for themselves, they did not. Not only left to fend for themselves, John Brown was captured and executed on December 2nd, 1859. The individual Raid on Harpers Ferry was a failure. However, it may have been one of the little things that pushed Slavery to its end.
